Royal Air Force Halton sits in the beautiful, undulating countryside of Buckinghamshire, 30 miles northwest of London. As you will see from the Location Map Halton nestles between  the Vale of Aylesbury and the start of the Chiltern Hills.  RAF Halton is approximately 25 miles from the Watford Junction of the M25. It also conveniently lies between 2 railway stations, Tring (which has a direct line to Euston, London) and Wendover (which has a direct line to Marylebone, London).

RAF Halton has a long and successful history of training, spanning over eighty years. The Station role is to train personnel for the Air Force of tomorrow. This includes Recruit Training and Basic Trade training for suppliers, caterers, policemen, and administrators. The station also provides Initial Specialist Officer training for caterers, administrators and provost officers along with many specialist and further training courses. In line with current government policy, RAF Halton sells spare capacity training and resources to a very broad spectrum of customers and this task is managed by a business development officer.

As might be expected of a large and vital training unit, there are many excellent opportunities for sport and recreation at RAF Halton. A wide range of  activities are catered for, including gliding, horse-riding, hockey, tennis,  athletics, cycling, orienteering, canoeing, rugby, football, golf, swimming and  cross-country along with opportunities for Adventurous Training. RAF Halton is  the RAF’s Home for Sport for 14 sports.
